All aboard Crystal Cruises

Docked in the port in Barcelona the Crystal Cruises fleet, namely Symphony and Serenity hold a majestic presence, and so they should. These 7* uber luxury ships simply ooze elegance and the high life and with more space per person on each ship than any other liner, you will feel at one with the sea.

The space on board is a big thing for Crystal, and you can see why. Everywhere you wander you don’t feel overwhelmed with the sense that 900 other guests are sharing the cruise with you. In fact the newest edition to the fleet, Serenity, is 32% bigger than Symphony but only has 12% more passengers.

Both ships receive a facelift every other year to keep them looking as fabulous as they were the day they were new. Symphony has recently just undergone a £25 million refurbishment within its state rooms and penthouses, bars, restaurants and even on the deck area where everything is clean and fresh.

The Crystal Cruises ethos is to take care of the staff and crew and they will in turn take care of the passengers. You can sense this wherever you walk as you are greeted with a genuinely warm smile and hello. In fact, crew are hired on personality rather than experience making it more of an experience for the passengers who expect cheery people on board.

The ships are all inclusive but work in a different way to normal all inclusive offers. The company have realised that not all customers wish to have alcohol included, so they give each person on board £2,000 in which to spend as they wish as their all inclusive entitlement, meaning that spa and beauty treatments, language and computer courses will be included.

Food is a big part of life on board Symphony and Serenity and it is available pretty much when and where you want it. The ships have world class restaurants and even a sushi restaurant from world renowned chef Nobu, who even comes on board throughout the time at sea. Even Michelin starred chef Tom Aikens holds courses on board for passengers who love their food, and they should, there is an abundance of it.

The atmosphere on board the Crystal Cruises fleet is great, showing why they have so much repeat custom. In fact and unprecedented 66% return the next year to savour the delights of the same or new cruise.
