Rigby & Peller Launch Gothic AW10 Collection

Luxury lingerie brand and purveyor of the Queen’s undergarment needs, Rigby & Peller , have launched their AW10 collection which reveals the dark side with gothic themes.

Creative Director Nicky Clayton drew inspiration from the gothic culture that is currently enjoying mainstream attention across many popular genres, thanks to such mainstream hits such as the Twilight saga and edgy TV shows.

The Underwear as Outerwear look will continue to dominate well into 2011, as will the 1950s inspired styles with the wasp waist look teamed with padded hips, structured basques and full, hip hugging briefs.

“Voiles, laces and tulles are all in evidence for a dark romantic effect,” says Nicky. “I have aimed for ethereal moods by using feathered capes and even feathered eyelashes in our main shoot. The corsets feature eye-catching strapping but, design wise, fulfil the graphic minimalism look I wanted to capture.”
